Phnom Penh’s Olympic Stadium is gearing up to host the Cambodia-Japan Charity Fight on May 10, 2024, aiming to rally support for Cambodian orphans. This philanthropic endeavor, announced during a recent press conference, is a joint effort between TV Tower and the Cambodian Boxing Federation (CBF).

Mr. Meas Vichet, CEO of LDST Development (Cambodia) Co. Ltd., the owner of TV Tower, revealed that tickets for the event will be distributed free of charge. To further aid the cause, donation boxes will be strategically placed at the venue, allowing kickboxing enthusiasts to contribute, with all proceeds directed towards assisting Cambodian orphans.

Notably, a Japanese professional boxer has generously offered to train interested Cambodian orphans post-event. H.E. Tem Moeun, Under Secretary of State for the Ministry of National Defence and CBF Honorary President, emphasized the event’s significance in fostering both experiential and professional bonds between Cambodian and Japanese boxers.

The lineup for the Cambodia-Japan Charity Fight comprises nine matches, with four Cambodian boxers participating in four of them. This initiative promises to not only showcase sporting prowess but also uphold the spirit of solidarity and goodwill. (By Lim Nary)
